Shortcuts

Scroll the song rows in large steps

[OPTION] + [UP or DOWN]

Queue the selected song row for playback

[LEFT] + [PLAY] and the playhead will flash until the row starts

Mute selected tracks

Enter the selection mode with [SHIFT] + [OPTION], select tracks with [DIRECTION] and then mute (temporary or hold)

Solo selected tracks

Enter the selection mode with [SHIFT] + [OPTION], select tracks with [DIRECTION] and then mute (temporary or hold)

Solo all tracks to the left or right of the cursor

[OPTION] + [LEFT or RIGHT] 

Move chains up or down in selection mode

Enter the selection mode and select chains with [DIRECTION]. Then hold [EDIT] and you should see a little X on the left. While holding [EDIT] press [UP] or [DOWN] to move the chains

Quickly select multiple one or multiple rows in selection mode

[SHIFT] + [OPTION] + [OPTION] and then you can press [UP or DOWN] to select more rows. This behaviour in song view is different from the other views

Clone chain

[SHIFT] + [OPTION, then EDIT] to copy the contents of the selected chain into the next empty chain. This will change the chain number, so you can first copy the chain and then clone it

Deep clone chain

[SHIFT] + [OPTION, then double tap EDIT] to copy the contents of the selected chain into the next empty chain and copy the contents of all its phrases into the next empty phrase(s). It’s especially useful for creating variations. This will change the chain number, so you can first copy the chain and then clone it

Render selection to a new instrument

While the song is stopped, enter the selection mode with [SHIFT] + [OPTION], select chain(s) with [DIRECTION] and then [EDIT] + [EDIT]

Enter and exit live mode

[SHIFT] + [LEFT] in the song view. Live mode allows to independently play or stop chains anywhere in the song view

Controlling live mode

To start a chain, select it and press [PLAY]. You can queue a whole row by holding [LEFT] and then pressing [PLAY]. To stop a chain, press [SHIFT] + [PLAY]

Quantisation in live mode

By default, the selected chain will start after the active chain stops, i.e. after reaching the end of the last phrase of the chain that is playing. However, you can start the selected chain after the end of the playing phrase by double tapping [PLAY]. The quantisation of the live mode can be changed in the project view

In song view, hold [OPTION] while the song is stopped

Maintain a track’s play position with other tracks

The duration of each chain depends on its number of phrases. Thus, if the chains' lengths are different in each track, then the play position will become mismatched across tracks. You can take advantage of this feature or, alternatively, you can avoid it by ensuring that all chains have the same number of phrases. For silent tracks or spacers, create a chain with the same number of empty phrases as the other chains in the song (it's common to use a 00 or FE chain for this purpose)

Immediately stop the audio from a previous chain

Create, for example, a FD chain where the first phrase inside is also FD and has a KIL command on the first row of all FX columns. The following phrases in this chain can be empty and you can use, for example, FE. This chain generally has the same number of phrases of all other chains to keep all chains in the song moving at the same time, but that's optional.

Insert a row of chains above another row

[SHIFT] + [OPTION] + [OPTION] to quickly select a row, press [OPTION] to copy, place the cursor on the first track of the row below the place where you wish to insert the line and then press [SHIFT] + [EDIT] to insert

Insert an empty row above another row

Select an empty row, press [SHIFT] + [OPTION] + [OPTION] to quickly select that row, press [OPTION] to copy, place the cursor on the first track of the row below the place where you wish to insert the empty line and then press [SHIFT] + [EDIT] to insert. This is especially useful for working on your song arrangement
